 Ok so you fellas are gonna think that I'm bashing you again, but no, I'm just here to merely help you. I mean it's about time somebody took it upon them-self to teach you all how to be real men and well luckily yours truly has decided to be here for you all. [lolz] Ok so I know a guy who wants to know what's in style and what they can wear to look good for the ladies and not look like a complete mess. And well I respect this plea for help, because only the strong can admit they're wrong. So yes this interest in fashion is not gay at all, a lot of guys these days are metro and well it's to win over the ladies, so what can be wrong about that. Just think about it, girls luv gay guys because gay guys know how to dress and look good just the sad part is...  they're just not that it us, but see if a straight guy looked that good.... well then he's a winner.

     So I know last time I told you all about your hair, and now it's about ur clothes, but it's only because I care deeply =(. You see, when you're selling something, you don't just sell piece of it - you don't just sell the baara, noooo you need to have the channa. That's why you can't just have the hair to pick up the ladies, you gotta have the wear! And then, only then will you be a nice little package, wrapped up in grease paper..perfect to sell [ well personality is another part of the package but there's only so much I can do for that =S] Ok so let's get down to business..... We're looking at the cool styles for guys ;). Just remember fashion is fit, function and self expression. Here we go, head to toe =).

                                                            Your Shirt.

           Ok so you the trick to living in society, is to look decent! You want to come off as a respectable young man at all times, you don't wanna be emo, you don't wanna be gansta, you don't wanna be.. umm ok idk what you call this but trust me you don't wanna be all colored skinny jeans, with the plaid scarf, shades and colorful shoes. Follow my advice and you will seem like a respectable person who any father wouldn't mind sending their daughter on a date with and most of all you will earn respect if you look good. I mean yes, girls can be fussy, and well it's gonna take me some time to get over that fact that I won't meet a Dastan in Trinidad but I mean the most you all can do is help the healing process by dressing good. Basically the way you dress says a lot about who you are, so listen carefully to what I have to say [ahem* read carefully]. So the first thing you do wrong is the fit, FASHION IS FIT, if you wanna look good your clothes have to fit you good, it can't be too tight and it can't be too loose.

  So this is a normal fit tee, note how nothing is printing out yet its still slim fitting enough to show body shape.

So now that you know how your clothes should fit you, you should know what to wear =P. So You wanna look normal, because girls don't really go for the weirdos, and well to keep things simple we'll go with your basic shirt and tee shirt. First up the tee shirt, you wanna keep things real simple because you're just that kind of guy- the laid back guy who cares how he looks but he doesn't care more than the girl herself. So to pull off the laid back casual jack look, choose a simple tee, that means that you should not go up inna d Westport and buy the shiniest one you see.

Tee shirt with bling is a no-no, it tells me that you don't have a style of your own because everyone's wearing the same thing, it tells me your don't have a mirror cause you're wearing that in public and it tells me that I should not be checking you out. [Looks away immediately] I like shiny things, like I LOVE SHINY things but NOT ON A GUY. Also try and stay away from Francis Fashion Sales, like yea maybe you could find some good stuff in there if you shop but all this Ed Hardy...... It's not easy on the eyes.

This is really distracting and well if you have a nice face, it really takes away from it because we're just staring at the blinding tee, all that gold n thing not cool. And all those outrageous prints, wings n creatures n ting pon your whole back, yea its too much. Go for more simple simple shirts, it can make you seem like you have your head on right and you make your own decisions and that you aren't just consumed by this so called teenage fashion that everyone's doing.

You wanna go, if not for a plain tee, a rather normal design, a small motif or something that is not so entirely eye catching as rhinestones and what not. Notice how plain these printed tees look.

               So in terms of shirts, you wanna do the same thing, stay away from large prints with rhinestones, you want to keep things simple. You also want the same slim fitting fit. Also for those of you who like plaid shirts, now yea plaid, that's a great idea it can give you that whole rugged lumberjack look which is a win, but you have to know how to wear it, i.e. that means  DO NOT GO FOR CRAZY COLORFUL PLAID.... it makes us question ur sexuality.

       Hey you can even try this button down look, with a plain white tee inside.... Wait hold up note how I said buttoned down with shirt inside?? That means that you shouldn't button down ur shirt midway to ur chest when u have nothing underneath because chest hair is a no-no and well unless you have a real nice ripped body... then don't do it, like seriously don't do it, it's scary =S

            POLOS! Polos are a great way to look simple an sophisticated as it lends its design to both shirts and tee shirts. Big stripes like this is a do, because horizontal stripes can give the illusion that things are wider than they actually are, so especially if ur a skinny guy this is a do cause it can make u look bigger than u are [ in a good way that is] and also the stripes are not too thin to be blinding.

   So polos can make u look more sophisticated and smart, all the same while being casual and since not a lot of people wear polos, this can be ur chance to stand out. This is also a great way to support your fav football team without wearing those big hideous football shirts that are made from shiny materials in bright bold colors.

So another thing that can be worn-waistcoats, that's a excellent way to make you seem sophisticated but it has to fit you well. Wearing a waistcoat for a formal event has been over done though, so spice things up and make it casual; a nice jeans, three quarter sleeve shirt and a nice waistcoat ;)

Another thing you wanna watch is a hoodie, hoodies are casual and comfy but listen buddy you're living in Trinidad where the sun is always hot, so unless it's raining or it's night time then don't wear a hoodie plz.... you just look dumb! And you don't want to look like those emo fools, so choose a nice one that you can mix and match, not necessarily a black go for unique passable colors such as grey and navy, white is just too much and gets dirty fast =(.

Another way to keep warm yet look sophisticated and smart...is to wear a pullover although I'm not a big fan of this. Wearing argyle seems to make you seem smart and well girls like smart guys.

I'm not a fan of the one on the top right hand corner, I would stay away from prints like that..... it's just too much!!! TOO MUCH ARGYLE IS BADD. Talk about nerd!! =P

And yet another way to look unbelievably smart and sophisticated is to wear .... a cardigan. It's much better than a pullover in the sense that you can button down when it gets hott [ and remember you live in Trinidad, I know some of all yuh does forget that nuh] And plus it's now coming back in style so it shows that you're a trend setter.

And well when you need fashion inspiration, just watch a little Gossip Girl. The guys on GG have great style seeing that the show has a great costume designer. And I mean I'm sure ur either a Dan, Nate or a Chuck, so they pretty much have you covered. I personally love Chuck's style, lolz soo quirky =) Just note how he can wear suspenders like a pro.

                                 

Your Accessories.

          So fashion, FASHION IS FUNCTION! Fashion works if it's useful, for example; wearing a nice scarf in the fall or winter is fashionable, but wearing a plaid scarf in Trinidad is stupid. Wearing a cool winter hat in the cold to keep ur ears warm is fashionable, but wearing a winter hat in Trinidad is stupid. Basically, I frown upon the scarf, it serves no purpose and it does not help you look better. You see, the scarf is just so much fabric that it wears you, you don't wear the scarf, so a lot of the focus ends up on the scarf.

So we talked about function. Shades! The word Shades comes from the word Shade, which is what it provides the wearer. This means that wearing shades, shades your eyes from the sun, so when you wear shades inside and on cloudy days and all the damn time.... you look stupid. So only wear shades when you need them, also choose shades that are flattering to you face [ I hope you already knew that =S]

Ties are an excellent way to look good/smart as well. What you want to look for is a skinny tie, you would have noticed that some ties are broader than others, go for the skinny one. It has come to my attention that many guys are 'trying' to rock pink ties, but the key to rocking a pink tie is to wear a pastel shade, a more muted shade a of pink looks better than that fuchsia crap your wear around your neck. Don't get me wrong, I luv fuchsia but as a tie, its just too distracting and takes away from the rest of the outfit. Striped ties are a win as well.... sumbody say Slytherin!<3

Ok well this is just a fail on soo many levels..... THE TATTOO SLEEVE! Here's the rule, if you're to chicken to get real tattoos then you don't deserve the right to pretend you have tattoos! Yea it's just a major fail, like imagine you meet this girl with your fake tattoos and well the next day she's all like ' Hun I wanna see your tattoos'... what do you say, 'Sry babes, I don't have real tattoos'???? Another thing is, you all wear sleeves that don't even match your skin tone, so you can't even trick the girl that those tattoos are real in the first place. So say no to tattoo sleeves.

Your Pants. 

So like shirts, fit is important. You want to wear good fitting pants! Pants which are too tight can actually cause infertility and look rly wrong, whilst wearing baggy pants can make you look like a clown. And seriously, that whole have ur boxers showing thing, just doesn't cut it! I hate to see guys wearing their pants under their butt, it look hooligan-ish and and well looking like that will not earn you the respect you desire.

what you want to do is wear a straight leg pants, because not only is it slim fitting it can make your legs look longer, hence making you look taller <--- Tip for the shorties out there.

You also want to STAY AWAY FROM COLORED PANTS. Like seriously, do I need to explain this?? Yea I don't think so, just don't wear it plz.

You can also feel free to wear dress pants for a classy, sophisticated look and also board shorts for a more fun and laid back look.

If you're going to wear shorts like the blue one, you may want to wear a plain tee with it so that you are not a walking eyesore. 

Cargo pants are also making a comeback so be individual and give it a try before everyone else is wearing it and making it lame =(

You want to keep things simple, you want your shoes to compliment your whole outfit so DO NOT WEAR THE RAINBOW. Wearing colorful shoes like this can really take away from a good outfit rather than enhance it, so be careful as to what you do. Just don't look to crazy! And remember to mix it up, going to lime by friends or some thing, you could wear flip flops, going out with friends, you can wear sneakers, going to meet the girl, you can wear dress shoes. Just don't have one pair of converse that you wear to everything please.

I know I said FASHION IS SELF EXPRESSION, but honestly I know that there isn't a dying artist inside of you and nothing in your life inspired you to wear these things except your drive to look good and well now you know what looks good and what doesn't.

And well if you are not a fashionista, you basically need these basics and well you can mix and match your life. =)
